Memorial to Stirling N3703

On Saturday 12th July The Stirling Aircraft Project attended the Godmanchester Families day in memory of the crew of Stirling N3703, which crashed near the town. This was organised by Roger Leivers of the Porch museum. Having not been to one of these for a long while, it was sad that there were no aircrew there but it was great to meet all the relatives. The Squire sports car, once owned by the pilot of the Stirling, S/Ldr Drummond Wilson was on display outside. We took down some of our work for display and did a presentation to the families. There was a flypast by the Lancaster and a visit to a house locally in which everything is 1940’s! We also presented an original piece of metal from the famous Stirling, MacRoberts Reply to Phillippa Kirby, the grand daughter of Sgt. Gould, who was an original crew member of this Stirling.
