Project update

Apologies for the lack of an update recently as we have been relocating to a temporary building at Alconbury due to our previous one being demolished for re-development. With any luck we will be moving again in the near future to a building with a more long term future at Alconbury, consequently though, progress has been slow as most of our tooling is still packed away. In the background we’ve been working on smaller components like the brake lever, landing lamp lever and throttle box. A recent development has been the offer by a local engineering company to manufacture complex items for us free of charge. I’ll post more info on this in due course, but in the mean time, many thanks to Cambridge Precision of St Neots for their kind offer.

You may recall that we have been working with the Porch Museum in Godmanchester as part of their aim to raise funds for a memorial to the crew of a Stirling that crashed near the village. They are holding a raffle on behalf of the memorial fund with some of the proceeds going to our Project. tickets are on sale for £1 each and are available from our Chairman, if you wish to purchase any please can you send a SAE and cheque payable to “The Stirling Aircraft Project” to
